Now that you have your nutri-bullet slung around your waste like John Wayne, we can get started.
So, I make a lot of shakes and smoothies. And, I go to the gym pretty frequently (like you). Over the last couple of months, I’ve been making variations of this shake for keto. And guess what? We’re gonna make it.
No more bananas… I’m not sure if you fall in this boat, but I used to love eating them. They make the most creamy shakes. When I started keto I was really bummed that I couldn’t use them, and my protein shakes became pretty bland.
But! I found a few replacements. Both heavy whipping cream and cream cheese add a nice thickness to a shake. So, that’s what we’re going to be doing in this recipe. Throwing these bad boys in the blender to “creamatize” it up for us. You’d be surprised how well cream cheese mixes in a ninja blender.
Protein Shake for Keto, Chocolate Raspberry
A creamy keto-Inspired protein shake to refuel your muscles after a tough workout
Makes just over 1 cup.
You can swap in your favorite chocolate protein powder. I wrote a post about some of the best protein powders out there for keto. If you need help deciding, Pure whey makes a great powder for a really good price compared to other companies.
- 1 tbs cream cheese
- 2 tbs heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup frozen raspberries
- 30-50g Chocolate Flavored Protein Powder
- Add liquids and ice to mixing container first.
- Add all other ingredients.
- Mix in a blender and enjoy.
